About
Stephanie Waite is a busy professional violinist, performing all over the UK and abroad, and teaching at her home in Bedford. She works regularly with the City of London Sinfonia, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, London Mozart Players, National Symphony Orchestra and Britten Sinfonia. A passionate chamber musician, she is a member of the Sinfonia Verdi Soloists, and guest 2nd violinist in the Berkeley Ensemble. As a teacher, Stephanie regularly works at the Royal Academy of Music and Trinity Laban Junior departments, and has for several years been part of the faculty of National Chamber Music Course.
Alongside her husband, violinist Enrico Alvares, Stephanie founded the Clarendon Chamber Music Group. Together they have created a platform for local chamber music coaching for adults and young people, as well as performances, all under the CCMG umbrella.
Stephanie's musical life started at the age of two, when she was first handed a violin and began learning to play using the Suzuki method. She soon blossomed into national and international events in the Suzuki world, and began studying with Felicity Lipman at the age of ten. Stephanie also attended Junior Guildhall before going to Cambridge University, where she continued her studies with Levon Chilingirian.
Committed to lifelong professional development, Stephanie has recently studied with Ayke Agus, Adam Han-Gorski, Ken Sillito and Simon Fischer. She continues to seek inspiring avenues for study and passes on this accumulated knowledge to her students and to audiences via her performances.
